THQ ("Toy-Head-Quarters") was a North American based game developer and publisher of video games. It was founded in 1989. THQ has offices in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. THQ published many games, a lot of which are acclaimed titles, such as Red Faction, Saints Row and Company of Heroes.
THQ acquired Red Faction's developer, Volition, in September 2000, after Volitions publisher was nearing bankruptcy.
THQ closed it's doors as of January 22nd, 2013.
