Remote Charges are explosives in Red Faction and Red Faction: Guerilla that stick to any surface and are great for setting traps. The player can set multiple charges and explode in the order placed once the player hits the detonator. The charges resemble the Remote Charges from the first Red Faction only in their use, as they look nothing like the original charges. They are the most basic and multi-purpose weapon in Red Faction: Guerrilla, besides the sledgehammer.
Upgrades[]
There are a several upgrades for this, but only 2 different sorts can be used. One gives you the ability to carry more charges, starting with 18 and ending with 30. The other gives you the ability to place more charges at a time, starting with 2 and ending with 12.
Upgrade costs vary depending on the difficulty selected for the game. The following values are for the Normal difficulty.

Trivia[]
- Remote Charges can be detonated anywhere in the world, and while the player is holding any weapon. However, when the distance between the player and the charge becomes too great, the charge will disappear, not allowing you to detonate.
- When attached to EDF drones, Guerrillas, or civilians they will run away screaming, much like the Remote Charges in Red Faction. After about 20 seconds the victim will manage to throw off all of the charges attached to them.
- Though very difficult to achieve, it is possible to attach a charge to an EDF Gunship, allowing you to destroy it without an anti-air weapon. Doing so will yield an achievement on Xbox 360.
- Using the bash on this weapon with no ammo allows mason to punch individuals. It doesn't do much damage but is a good challenge.
