The Mastiff is the main battle tank of the Red Faction around 2171.

Design[]

The Mastiff's armor is gunmetal blue. Armament consists of the tank's cannon and two coaxial machine guns, one on each side of the turret.

History[]

The Mastiff saw usage during the Cultist Crisis. A few Mastiffs were captured by the Cultists and used against the Red Faction.

The Mastiff was also utilized during the Plague Armageddon, though to a limited extent.

Trivia[]

Though the Mastiff is only useable in Path To War, several destroyed Mastiffs can be found throughout the first level of Red Faction: Armageddon. Two more can be found in "On The Run".
In the ending cutscene for "Tip Of The Spear", a Mastiff can be seen firing a plasma projectile, which suggests that a variant with a plasma cannon exists.
The term "Mastiff" refers to large molosser dog breeds, and also refers to the English Mastiff dog breed.
