The Cultists are radical, extremist offshoot of Adam Hale's White Faction and Marauder state. Their charismatic leader on the other hand, Adam Hale, has ties to the long vanquished Earth Defence Force and plays a major part in War of 2150 and particularly the Battle of Bakhuysen Trench when he first attempts to destroy the Terraformer. Whether the Cultists share a stronger link with the White Faction or whether Hale simply co-opts another group to suits his aims is unknown.

History[]

Under Hale's leadership, the Cultists go to war with the Red Faction and force everyone to take shelter beneath the surface after destroying the Terraformer and wrecking the planet's atmosphere. Hale is believed to have died during this battle and the threat the Cultists posed nullified, but he survived.

The Cultists, still lead by Adam Hale emerge once more after tricking Darius Mason into destroying the Seal and unleashing the Plague Armageddon upon Mars, where they set up jamming relays to keep Red Faction forces from meeting with the Marauders. After Mason destroyed their relays, the Cultists later try to raid a Red Faction forward operating base, but they are fought off by Mason and Marauder smuggler Kara in a Marauder Scout Walker. The fate of the Cultists is unknown after the death of Adam Hale, with some members likely surviving after the Plague threat is exterminated or the group as a whole was most likely disbanded.

Organization[]

The Cultists don't have the same structure as a professional military force. They make use of irregular tactics, such as asymmetric warfare. Being an offshoot of the Marauders, majority of the Cultists' equipment is shared with them.

Units[]

Cultist troops come in two types: warriors, standard fighters, and heralds, field officers. Warriors carry Assault Rifles and Shotguns, while Heralds carry heavier weapons like the Marauder Nano Rifle, Pulse Grenade Launcher, and Rocket Launchers. The Cultists make use of SHIVA exosuits as mechanized units.

The Cultists use Reavers for mobility, and Marauder Scout Walkers are used for armored firepower. Inferno GX fighters are used for aerial warfare.
