Background[edit | edit source]
It is a crushing defeat for the Earth Defence Force against the combined forces of the Marauders and Red Faction which finally ends their domination on Mars, the most sophisticated and deadly war platform conceived to that date, forcing the forces allied against the EDF to strike quickly to execute their plan.
They themselves, however, have some deadly technology of their own in the Nano Forge - a remnant piece of nanotechnology created by Axel Capek and left over from the fall of the Ultor Corporation. Originally safeguarded by the Marauders, the device have fallen into Red Faction hands before the Battle of the Badlands have truly begun and before they are forced in their uneasy alliance. The Nano Forge is formidable, but both sides have barely tapped its potential by such a time and they barely got it working for their purposes at the eleventh hour - still barely tapping its potential.
Following the liberation of whole Tharsis sectors by the Red Faction. The EDF retreated into Mount Vogel hiding at the mountain and hoping for the Hydra to come and obliterated the resistances. But however to ensure the operation to be clear, The Earth Defense Force launch an offensive lead by Bertram Roth on the mountain peak to censer the Nanotechology cannon, making Alec Mason to fight his way from modified EDF Mobile Rocket Artillery. At along the way, the Matriarch of Marauder was killed in the process defending the peak. Despite, the blockage of the EDF last attempted. Alec Mason ultimately reached to the top of the peak, kill General Roth and his forces. Before opening up the cannon cover. Allowing the Red Faction open fire on the inter-planetary warship and destroying it for good, Lucius Kobel was killed inside the ship after the shockwave is dispense.
